Marshlands
While taking a ride on the Natchez a paddle wheel boat on the lower Mississippi, the shoreline on either side of the river becomes vivid with both past and present. The Marshlands, in its understated solid beauty, sits agelessly and serenely in a field of colorful wildflowers. Beckoning up memories of how, as children, we would run with the butterflies, wade in the river and picnic on the rocks-Oh, what this raised cottage on the Old Mississippi reawakened in me!
