Shady Banks
An alternative to visiting historic homes is recreating one for yourself. Shady Banks is in a small coastal community that came into being as a fishing village. And that is still the focus of the village today. All along the waterfront piers, boats, fisherman and the ever-present screeching birds. As the men leave for their boats each morning before light, they wave affectionately to their wives who are steadfastly watching them off to sea – and they will be there in the evening, awaiting their men’s safe return.
